ON RUMORS, VIGILANCE, AND THE TRUTH WE'VE ALWAYS PUBLISHED
| A gentle note to the artist community, from the Artbridge Nexus Council
March 2026
A rumor has reached us. It says Artbridge Nexus charges a $150–$300 application fee for portfolio submissions.
We understand why artists are vigilant. The art world is full of fees, fine print, and promises that cost more than they deliver. Vigilance is not suspicion—it is wisdom. And wisdom deserves an answer.
So here is ours, direct and clear:
| Portfolio submission to Artbridge Nexus has always been free. It remains free. It will always be free.
There is no application fee. No hidden charge. No credit card required at any point in the submission process. You submit your work. You receive the latest edition of the Nexus Handbook immediately—no cost, no obligation, no waiting period. Ashley, our Head of Relations, reads every submission and replies personally within weeks. That is not a promise we made yesterday. It is how we have operated since day one, and it is published clearly on our website for anyone to verify.
The Visual Artist Fellowship—our most curated & highly selective service—involves a professional fee. That fee funds 40+ hours of independent due diligence per artist: portfolio substantiation, exhibition history verification, market coherence assessment, and ongoing support. Our complete vetting process is published in full, with no redactions. The fee is disclosed only after an artist is invited, and only with complete transparency about what it funds. The submission itself, the step that comes before any invitation, remains free. Always has. Always will.

Quarterly Public Briefs on collector trends and market signals
The Desk, a free written AMA where artists ask anything about professional practice
Artist Tributes, editorial spotlights published globally
These resources represent a significant investment back into the global art community. We built them because we believe artists deserve better information, not better marketing. Thousands of artists have used them—without ever paying a dime, without ever signing up for anything beyond a portfolio submission they chose to make.
You were right to question. The art market runs on opacity, and opacity breeds rumors. But we have always published how we work—our Eight Laws, our methodology, our pricing philosophy, our commitment to artist sovereignty. It is all there, in plain language, on a public website. No gatekeeping. No fine print. Just the truth, published years ago and unchanged today.
— The Artbridge Nexus Council
P.S. If you haven't yet submitted your portfolio, consider this your invitation. It's free. The Handbook is waiting. Ashley will read what you send. And whether you're invited now, next year, or never, you remain part of this community. The door does not close.
