COMMON QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION (FAQ)
—
Straightforward answers about portfolio submission, the fellowship, and how we serve artists, collectors, and institutions.
Q: Is there an application fee to submit my portfolio?
No. Portfolio submission is complimentary—always has been, always will be.
Every artist who submits receives the Nexus Handbook immediately, a personal reply from our Head of Relations, and ongoing access to all free resources. Admission to the fellowship is by invitation only, extended to fewer than 2% of applicants. Those invited receive a confidential prospectus detailing the benefits and any associated investment before any decision is required.
Q: What is the Nexus Handbook, and how do I get it?
A practical guide to professional infrastructure: sovereign archiving, portfolio strategy, collector psychology, and more. You receive it immediately and free when you submit your portfolio. No fee. No obligation. Just the resource.
The latest edition is always sent upon submission. The first edition remains permanently archived at the Internet Archive for public reference.
Q: How is Artbridge Nexus different from a gallery?
Galleries represent artists, take 50% of sales, and control collector relationships—leaving artists with little autonomy and no direct connections. We do the opposite. Artbridge Nexus provides independent verification, confidential market intelligence, and secure collector introductions—then steps aside. You own 100% of your sales and 100% of your relationships. The credential is yours—backed by rigorous standards respected by collectors and institutions globally.
Q: Who is eligible for the fellowship?
The Visual Artist Fellowship is invitation-only, extended to fewer than 2% of submitting artists. Eligibility is determined through a comprehensive evaluation process aligned with global institutional standards—not by application volume or personal connection. If your practice demonstrates readiness, you will be invited to a written conversation.
Q: What happens if I'm not invited?
The door remains open. Many artists not admitted return later with stronger practices and clearer vision. You retain full access to all free resources—the Handbook, Public Briefs, The Desk, and Artist Tributes—regardless of invitation status. We continue to watch, and we continue to welcome your growth.
Q: Can I access paid services if I'm not in the fellowship?
Yes. Our Market Intelligence Library—including Market Briefs, Collector Reports, and Local Event Intelligence—is available to any artist, with or without fellowship admission. No fellowship required. Inquire for rates and availability.
Q: How do you verify collectors and institutions?
We track collectors and institutions through open-source research: auction records, institutional acquisition announcements, exhibition loan lists, board memberships, and published interviews. Every collector in our database meets a three-source verification standard. We do not claim affiliation—we provide intelligence. The connections are yours to make.
Q: What do the ID numbers in testimonials mean?
Each fellow is assigned a unique ID number (e.g., #0100, #0127) to protect their privacy while providing a sense of our community's growth. The numbers are sequential and indicate the year and cohort of admission. For example, #0100–#0109 are our first formal fellows (2025), while #0120–#0129 are the current active cohort (2027).
Q: Why don't you post prices publicly?
Because each artist, collector, and institution has different needs. A flat fee would overcharge some and under-serve others. All paid services are tailored to your practice, location, and goals. Inquire, and we'll provide a custom quote based on what you need—no obligation, no pressure.
Q: How do I contact you?
All inquiries should be directed to contact@artbridgenexus.com. You will receive a personal reply from a member of the Artbridge Nexus Council within 5-10 business days. We do not use automated responses—every message is read by a human.
